Since April of 2004, Christopher A. Skipper has been the sole practitioner of the Skipper Law Firm, LLC. The office is located in downtown Charleston at 192 East Bay Street, Suite 202, a few blocks from the historic Four Corners of Law. Chris practices Criminal Defense in Federal, State, Magistrate and Municipal Courts. He represents injured workers before the South Carolina Workers' Compensation Commission and has experience in Personal Injury Law. Born and raised in Georgetown and Horry Counties, Chris began to work in the Charleston legal community while a student at the College of Charleston in 1990.

After graduating from the University of South Carolina School of Law in 1996, Chris returned to the Lowcountry and went to work as an assistant solicitor in the Berkeley County Solicitor's Office. He prosecuted cases for an additional four years in the Charleston County Solicitor's Office. Throughout his six years as a prosecutor, Chris handled hundreds of cases that involved crimes from Driving Under Suspension to Murder.

Prior to opening the Skipper Law Firm, LLC, Chris spent a little over a year practicing in the area of workers' compensation insurance defense. The experience he gained as an attorney for the insurance companies provided excellent insight into how they handle claims and is a valuable asset in his representation of injured workers before the South Carolina Workers' Compensation Commission.

Chris serves as the Associate Judge for the City of Folly Beach Municipal Court and the City Prosecutor for the City of Isle of Palms. He has the experience and background to evaluate each case from all perspectives (defense lawyer, prosecutor, judge).

Chris resides with his wife, Amy, and their 3 children in Mt. Pleasant.  He enjoys spending time with his family and being on the water.

Give Chris a call and let him put his experience and knowledge to work for you or your loved one.

He can be reached at 843-723-7177 or chris@skipperlawfirm.com and would be happy to schedule a free consultation to discuss how he can assist with your legal problem. After hours and weekend appointments are available and Chris will make every effort to accommodate your schedule and needs.
